Nadia Buari And Jim Iyke’s ‘Romantic Affair’ - A Charade, Publicity Stunt Or The Real Deal?

By Stephen Kwabena Effah
On screen, they leap, tumble and soar together. And their undeniable chemistry off set and off screen has ignited rumours of love affair brewing between the two film stars.
For over a year, the pair has shared pictures on social media of themselves hugging, cuddling, andpartying together, along with direct and indirect love messages, fuelling gossip about their romance.
Yet, Nigeria’s bad boy movie star, Jim Iyke and Ghana’s sexy screen goddess, Nadia Buari, have played down such speculations.
Of course, rumours of celebrity romance, unlike in Hollywood, are mostly denied in Africa in spite of clear evidence that shows otherwise.
In November 2013, rumours were rife that Jim was planning to marry Nadia--something the Nollywood star came out to dispel on twitter saying, “I’ll resolve this issue by stating as clearly as possible that this marriage rumour is unfounded and far-fetched. My prerogative is known to me only.”

While some actors find true love on set (Chris Attoh and Damilola Adegbite; actress Beverly Afaglo and Hiplife artiste Praye Honeho; and Stacy Amoateng and Okyeame Qouphi), other “celebrity romance” rumours are manufactured by publicists to drum up buzz for their clients’ upcoming project or to attract attention (Yvonne Nelson and John Dumelo; Sarkodie and Efya; Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler).
So the big question is, is the Jim Iyke-Nadia Buari ‘romance’ just one of the many publicity stunts, or is there a secret relationship that we should know about? As an industry watcher who has been following the romantic trails of these two stars, I have no doubt that they are madly in love and are doing what they can to protect their relationship.
You need only pay close attention to their utterances or body language when they are near each other to see that this is one romance that cannot be swept under the ‘glitzy red carpet’.
Lately, pictures of them cosying together in various locations in Ghana, Nigeria, and Europe are being tweeted daily by the duo.

On March 4, Nadia tweeted a photograph of Jim Iyke and herself at a beach, hunting for seashells, during one of their romantic holidays at an undisclosed location.

Clearly, when two actors take a break from work to travel to the far corners of the earth together, they are bound for a steamy getaway. Jim Iyke’s tweet says as much.

Considering the fact that most celebrity relationships fizzle and die as quickly as they begin, perhaps these two stars have resolved to take their‘romance’ easy and slowly until they are certain of its future.
Well, how long will the pair continue to deny their ‘romantic affair’? Time will tell!
